Piera Street Community Mural

I was approached by the community of Piera Street, Melbourne, Australia, who were holding a block party with food, drinks, live music, street performers as well as putting together this mural.

After conceptualising the design for it I painted the Peacock’s head and neck before painting black outlines for the feathers, after which members of the public from of ages and backgrounds came up to paint their own feather. It was based around the idea that it really is the individuals of a community that make it such a beautiful and vibrant entity, while the same can be said about the male peacock and all of its feathers.

I was thrilled with the response and engagement from everyone who turned up and it was a brilliant to be part of this event.
