Club Angel is a nightclub in a Grade II listed building and so they were looking for designs that reflect the nightlife as well as the venue itself; a timeless colour palette and with angels as the theme, yet with a contemporary twist . . .
This inspired me to reference marble statues for those classical poses and features, and by selecting only certain elements of the figures it allowed the designs to reach further around the spaces and give them a unique take on the traditional canvas. This approach actively encourages the viewers engagement as they visually fill in the blanks and realise the full characters before them. Another up to date addition was that all the angels have got themselves some ink so that they’re keeping up the trends!
All murals where spray painted with aerosol cans, alongside some additional hand painted lettering and branding.
